Spring Concert

Our first concert in 2018 will be taking place on 21st. April in Gaelscoil de h├Źde in Fermoy, in the hall of their new, state-of-the-art building which opened last year. In January 2016 planning permission was granted for the new 24-classroom complex on the Duntahane Road and on 17th. February, 2017 the students and staff closed the doors of their old building and walked to their new school accompanied by the local Fermoy Concert Band. Consequently, it is very fitting that, a year later, we have asked the Fermoy Concert Band to share the concert with us as one of our special guests. Our other special guest is the recently formed Munster Youth Singers, a youth group made up of kids from the ages of eight to fourteen attending primary and secondary schools in the area.
Tickets: €10,-, €5,- children.

The Orpheus Choir together with the Munster Youth Singers

On the 18th. November, 2017 at 8pm in The Mall Arts Centre in Youghal The Orpheus Choir will perform its first concert of the season, a Fund-raiser to support the Youghal RNLI and Youghal Community Bus.

The Choir and its Musical Director Hilary Reynolds are delighted to be returning to Youghal - their first visit in 2011 was to the Mary Collegiate Church, but this time the concert will be held in the Arts Centre, which is also the Town Hall, situated right next door to the Lifeboat Station.
The Lifeboat is a service as essential to Youghal as any Fire Brigade is to inland towns - a great cause for which to raise funds with this evening's entertainment. For those who do not go out in boats, but are in urgent need of affordable transport to be able to venture out at all in this most rural of areas, a community bus is also of an immense value and thus another very worthy cause.

This concert also provides an opportunity for the Munster Youth Singers, a youth ensemble newly-formed by Hilary this year, to give their first public appearance, and the Russian pianist, Galina Badmaeva, a musician of truly exceptional talent, who will accompany both choirs on the night, will add great colour and dynamic to the whole. Iconic and much-loved Irish folk melodies in fresh choral arrangements will share the programme with con-temporary music from American composers and, as a tribute to Youghal and its sea-faring history, the Gentlemen of The Orpheus Choir will even add a 'salty' ingredient to the proceedings with a rousing sea-shanty!

Tickets €12.50 concessions €10.00.

The Orpheus choir invites 'Vocavalry' to Fermoy

from left to right Daniel O'Regan, Daniel Beuster,
 Douglas Kelly and Nicholas McMurray
For its concert in Christ Church, Fermoy on 12th. May, 2017, entitled 'On Wings of Song', The Orpheus Choir is inviting really fantastic special guests to 'spice-up' the programme: the male harmony vocal quartet based in Cork City, called 'Vocavalry'.

Four handsome young men, Nicholas McMurray- alto, Douglas Kelly- tenor, Daniel O'Regan- baritone and Daniel Beuster- bass will be performing a mix of hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond. They sing without accompaniment and their unique blend of voices bring a whole new energy and style to those familiar old tunes. One thing is for sure; whether it's in a smooth ballad or an upbeat toe-tapper, The Vocavalry are impressive entertainers whose appearance in Fermoy should not to be missed!

The concert starts at 8.15 pm and tickets (€15,- adults, €7.50 children under 18) can be purchased at the door on the night. For ticket reservations and any other enquiries, please contact Hilary on 087-7924105 or
